📖 Lecture Topic: “Artificial Intelligence & Contemporary Crimes”
📅 Date: Thursday, November, 5, 2026
⏰ Time: 10:15 – 12:00 CET
💻 Format: Online
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed the nature, scale, and sophistication of contemporary crime. Criminal actors increasingly exploit AI-enabled technologies to conduct cyberattacks, identity theft, financial fraud, deepfake manipulation, misinformation, automated phishing, and social engineering. Generative AI can facilitate the creation of highly convincing fraudulent content, while autonomous systems may amplify the speed and reach of criminal operations. These developments create significant challenges for traditional criminal law, particularly concerning attribution, mens rea, evidence, jurisdiction, and intermediary responsibility. Consequently, legal systems must evolve beyond conventional approaches to address AI-enabled criminality through technology-neutral legislation, effective cybersecurity measures, digital forensic capabilities, institutional cooperation, and proportionate mechanisms for assigning liability. A balanced regulatory framework is essential to protect individuals, institutions, and society.
Join us to gain valuable insights into the Artificial Intelligence & Contemporary Crimes, presented by an experienced academic with a global perspective.
